Roadtrip 2023 Spring: Seaside - Waldport - Bend - Rock Creek Schoolhouse - Richland

Day 10 - Nye Beach

Ella wants the quickest route to the beach but has failed to read the dangerous cliffs warning signs.

Winds are up - but the sun is out. Chilly but feels good.

This memorial is for a dead whale that washed up on Nye Beach a number of years ago. It stank. Someone had the bright idea to blow it up with explosives. Really.

Wind, rain and hail will not deter a good game of ball.

The Padawan is getting it.

Crazy weather and wind - crazy sand patterns.

What appears to be a large piece of a broken off pier has landed right in front of the Sylvia Beach Hotel.

Local art finds a place to thrive right at Nye Beach.

No Parking in Nye Beach. Forget it.

Our entire day was planned so we could land here for an early dinner. Justin and crew do it again - all dishes executed to perfection. This is a must stop place if you're in the area and like good trattoria style Italian. We had pastas for dinner - but also ordered a pizza for take away lunches down track.

This shop deals in just about anything imaginable - and they're stubbornly independent too.

Repair work is never complete on the Yaquina Bay Bridge. Always somethin' that needs fixin'.
